We are the Society of Cosmetic Scientists Nigeria, and the 50th member of the International Federation of Societies of
Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC).
The primary aim of the Society is to promote the advancement of science and technology in the cosmetics and personal
care industries in Nigeria and the diaspora.
We work by attracting membership among highly qualified individuals with both academic and industrial experience in
the field of cosmetics and related sciences. We collaborate with institutions to advance the knowledge as well as
through our activities including publications, educational programmes and scientific meetings.
Comprised of experts in the field of cosmetic science, technology and engineering, we provide a voice for our members
during the consultation process in the areas that affect our industry. We are the scientific hub for Nigerian cosmetic
scientists around the world.
We are a not-for-profit organisation, hence we are governed by our NICOS Council, a group of people
appointed to make decisions in the interest of the Society. Council is made up of up to 7 ordinary members of the
Society and 5 Officers of the Society who are all elected as Full Members of the Society.
